Mark 3:1-6 (CEB)
1Jesus returned to the synagogue. A man with a withered hand was there. 2Wanting to bring charges against Jesus, they were watching Jesus closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. 3He said to the man with the withered hand, “Step up where people can see you.” 4Then he said to them, “Is it legal on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they said nothing. 5Looking around at them with anger, deeply grieved at their unyielding hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he did, and his hand was made healthy. 6At that, the Pharisees got together with the supporters of Herod to plan how to destroy Jesus.

Matthew 5:7 (CEB)
7Happy are people who show mercy because they will receive mercy.
Ephesians 2:4-7 (CEB)
4-5However, God is rich in mercy. He brought us to life with Christ while we were dead as a result of those things that we did wrong. He did this because of the great love that he has for us. You are saved by God’s grace! 6And God raised us up and seated us in the heavens with Christ Jesus. 7God did this to show future generations the greatness of his grace by goodness that God has shown us in Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:13-17
(CEB)
13If we are crazy, it’s for God’s sake. If we are rational, it’s for your sake. 14The love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: one died for the sake of all; therefore, all died. 15He died for the sake of all so that those who are alive should live not for themselves but for the one who died for them and was raised. 16So then, from this point on we won’t recognize people by human standards. Even though we used to know Christ by human standards, that isn’t how we know him now. 17So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation. The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived!

Joel 2:12-17 (CEB)
“Change Your Hearts”
love, and ready to forgive. 14Who knows whether he will have a change of heart and leave a blessing behind him, a grain offering and a drink offering for the Lord your God? 15Blow the horn in Zion; demand a fast; request a special assembly. 16Gather the people; prepare a holy meeting; assemble the elders; gather the children, even nursing infants. Let the groom leave his room and the bride her chamber. 17Between the porch and the altar let the priests, the Lord’s ministers, weep. Let them say, “Have
mercy, Lord, on your people, and don’t make your inheritance a disgrace, an example of failure among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”

Joel 2:12-17 (CEB)
“Change Your Hearts”
12Yet even now, says the Lord, return to me with all your hearts, with fasting, with weeping, and with sorrow; 13tear your hearts and not your clothing. Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, very patient, full of faithful love, and ready to forgive.
